In the years following the conclusion of the Two and a Half Men series, Jon Cryer secured an iconic role as the notorious villain Lex Luthor on Supergirl. Earlier in his career, the actor had a similar experience as the nephew of criminal mastermind Lenny on Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, but he went on to play a more prominent role as Lex on the CW series.
Not only has Cryer appeared in 20 episodes in the final seasons of the superheroine show, the actor has also appeared as an old antagonist in several other DC Arrowverses, including Arrow, Batwoman, The Flash. ,” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” according to ComingSoon. But even the latest of Cryer’s biggest TV parts has come to an end after the conclusion of “Supergirl” in 2021.
There was a possibility that Cryer could continue playing Lex in future episodes of Superman & Lois; However, that possibility became remote when it became apparent that the series would not take place in the same universe. The actor then completely squashed the rumor when he posted Twitter“For the record, the folks at DC were very cool and gave me a hint that the show was going in a different direction [the] character before they started looking. Most of the time actors find out about this stuff when it comes out in the trades. I’m grateful they did it in style.”
