Following the official confirmation that The Blacklist had been renewed for another season, the show’s official Instagram account shared a photo of James Spader in costume as the protagonist Red with a caption celebrating the eventual premiere of Season 10. While many responses from fans praised the show and Spader alike, some commenters argued that the show dragged on far too long.

For example, a user with the account name kim.zajaccc replied, “I really don’t see how there are any more storylines hahah.” Meanwhile, user jake.heikkinen9 argued that the show should have ended after Season 6 and is now ruined.

On Reddit, meanwhile, a user started a thread titled “Season 10” suggesting that the series should end after the next season. “There are only 3 main actors left. Just end it already ffs,” user iceleel replied, echoing the sentiment shared by her numerous like-minded Instagram commenters.

For what it’s worth, Harold Cooper actor Harry Lennix told Collider in 2021 that he hopes the series lasts at least 20 seasons, suggesting he wants it to continue indefinitely. The staff behind the scenes, meanwhile, are yet to comment on the substance of whether or not a final is in sight.
