Things got hot for Tim Kang when he appeared on a 2018 episode of Fox’s “Lethal Weapon.” Similar to Kang’s Magnum PI, this TV series adaptation of Lethal Weapon is an adaptation of the classic 1987 buddy cop action film of the same name. But while Kang serves as Detective Katsumoto to bring justice, this crime drama sees the actor in a role , which his character from “Magnum PI” probably wouldn’t approve of.
Kang makes his only appearance in “Lethal Weapon” in Season 2 Episode 12 entitled “Diggin’ Up Dirt” where he plays a private investigator named Mike Serrano. As the series’ lead duo, Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) and Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford), investigate a murder involving the cartel, their search leads them to Serrano. The private investigator plays shy but lets Riggs know that Miranda (Floriana Lima), the officer’s wife, was a client of his before her untimely death. That intriguing snippet aside, it’s pretty clear that Serrano isn’t telling the truth about his involvement. In fact, the corrupt private investigator later attempts to kill Riggs by hanging him upon discovering Serrano’s true nature. However, Murtaugh intervenes just in time, as fellow cops do for their partners.
