Why Demon Slayer Fans Have Questions About The Weakest Hashira

Read Time:1 Minute, 13 Second

Kyojuro Rengoku, both the metaphorical and literal bright spot of the Demon Slayer Corps, and Tengen Uzui, the skilled ninja with multiple wives, are two top Hashira members. The characters lend the series some of its most memorable moments, especially when dealing with Muzan’s upper tier demons. But because the two never reach the heights of their comrades, some have viewed them as low among the Hashira. And it’s sparked a lot of discussion from some fans on Reddit. In a post that focused on the two, many pointed out how unfair it was to consider them the most vulnerable of the Hashira. “They died/retired before they could unlock their Shonen A**pull powerups, which the other Hashira did,” wrote u/Better-Solution-7410.

The particular power-up referenced by the poster is the Demon Slayer Mark, a mark that, when activated, can bestow enhanced abilities on a powerful Demon Slayer. It’s a game changer for the Hashira who reach it later, but as many have noted, using it to rate Rengoku and Tengen is unfair. Rengoku can never unlock the target as he dies in his fight against Akaza in the Mugen Train movie. And after the events of the Entertainment District arc in Demon Slayer Season 2, Tengen is so wounded that he wants to retire from the Hashira. Never mind that they both battle two of Muzan’s strongest without getting the mark.
