Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) comes in first in Looper’s poll with 27.45% of the vote. This isn’t a surprise given that Casey helmed the series for nine and a half seasons and was generally the focus of the story. While other characters would get their time to shine, it could be argued that Chicago Fire was Matt Casey’s show for quite a while. Many fans have also spoken out since Spencer left the series in 2022, noting that “Chicago Fire” hasn’t been the same since Casey’s departure.
In second place is Mouch (Christian Stolte), who 21.46% of our respondents voted as their favorite Chicago Fire character. Mouch is an easy choice – he’s personable, funny, loyal, and one of the better supporting cast on the show. Our third place finisher is Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) with 14.98% of the vote. One of the last OGs in the series (like Mouch), Boden is the leader everyone wants and one of the most respected characters in Chicago Fire. His no-nonsense manner and commitment to his subordinates are admirable. Thankfully, he wasn’t doomed after his promotion and was able to stay at 51 and lead the charge.
