French-born Indonesian actor Maxime Bouttier, who plays Lily’s lover Gede in Ticket to Paradise, stayed in the Indonesian market for most of his acting career, making it likely that few of his earlier works will be immediately recognized by casual film fans. However, as Ticket to Paradise is his first internationally released romantic comedy, it probably won’t be for much longer.
Bouttier began his career in 2013 as Oliver on the romance drama Refrain before quickly switching and trying the horror genre with After School Horror and Kamar 207. Other roles included starring in “Dilarang Masuk!”, Vino in “Meet Me After Sunset,” and Matthew in “Matt and Mou.” On the television side, he is best known for portraying Abi and Rangga on the series Rewrite and Unknown.
Perhaps returning to his early horror roots, Bouttier even dabbled in directing the 2019 horror film Kain Kafan Hitam, in which he also starred as Bimo. With his acting career only now gaining global recognition, we’re excited to see what the future holds for him.
