When Charlie’s Angels aired its final episode in 1981, Jaclyn Smith quickly found more work as an actress. She even received a Golden Globe nomination in 1982 for the title role in the television film “Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy”. However, much of Smith’s time away from her family was spent creating and managing the famous Jaclyn Smith line of women’s sportswear, which can be found at Kmart since the 1980s (via CBS).

A celebrity making her own brand was unusual at the time, and Smith himself was initially unsure what the move was. But the model and actress recalls, “Instinctively, I changed my mind and said, ‘This is something I want to do.'” Their association with the company proved extremely successful, and the Jaclyn Smith brand still lives on sold in Kmart stores.

She continued to have prolific film and television appearances, including a regular role on The District, until 2005, when her schedule slowed. Smith’s most recent credit was a guest appearance on All American in 2021, but she also made guest appearances as Kelly Garrett in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and in the recent Charlie’s Angels reboot in 2019, Smith told Forbes that she didn’t expect the show to still be popular: “Sometimes you assume you haven’t reached that many generations. The repetitions help.”
