Things got off to a rocky start after Young’s “Shark Tank” performance aired. The website was inundated with around 1,000 times normal traffic and the server was overloaded. Young spent two days getting CordaRoys.com back online, and business has been booming ever since (via Shark Tank Blog).
Prior to Shark Tank, CordaRoys grossed about $1 million in total (via Shark Tank Blog). Shark Tank immediately had a positive impact on the company’s bottom line, as the company brought in $3 million in 2014 alone. The company had combined sales of $10 million in 2018 and currently brings in approximately $5 million per year.
The Shark Tank appearance led to several new business opportunities. A catalyst for CordaRoy’s growth was the many appearances on QVC that Greiner made possible. Young also has a deal with Costco to sell its products in its stores. In October 2018, CordaRoys upgraded to a 20,000-square-foot manufacturing facility to meet increasing demand (via Shark Tank Blog).
Joining Shark Tank isn’t a guarantee of success, but in the case of CordaRoys, it was a turning point.
