We Have Pete Davidson To Thank For Joe Pesci’s Return To Comedy

Pete Davidson teams up with Peacock to bring new series ‘Bupkis’ to life. The show will be a slightly exaggerated version of Davidson’s real life and, according to Deadline, will feature Edie Falco as his mother and Joe Pesci as his grandfather. Since Davidson will also appear in the series, we can assume that this will mainly explore his adulthood. Additionally, since Davidson’s father tragically died during 9/11 (via Cinema Blend), we can probably tell the timeline begins after 2001, since no one was cast in the role of the actor’s father.

Though Pesci had come out of retirement for a few films over the past 23 years, none of them were live-action comedies or television shows. That means “Bupkis” will bring the actor two impressive returns. Additionally, the show will be only its second time starring in a television series; Back in 1985, he played New York police officer-turned-actor Rocky Nelson in the short-lived detective comedy/drama Half Nelson.

Aside from Pesci’s participation, which makes Davidson’s upcoming series all the more enticing, there’s always a chance that “Bupkis” could pry the reclusive actor out of his shell and convince him to work on more projects.
