Let’s get the bad news out of the way first, shall we? There is no confirmed release date for Season 2 of Vikings: Valhalla, although the cameras were done some time ago. Speaking to Digital Spy in February 2022, Jeb Stuart revealed that Season 2 was well under development ahead of Season 1’s release and he was “excited to get it out”. Going so deep into the story behind the camera made sense given the lofty commission Stuart had received. Even before swords were drawn for Valhalla’s first season, Netflix had greenlit a massive 24-episode order and assured that we’d be seeing Leif and Halbrand for a third appearance, let alone a second.
As much as he may be interested in getting the ball rolling, chances are the longboats will be docked for the remainder of 2022. Since we received a visit from the Vikings in February 2022, the same tactics could be used in 2023. Sure, it might be a few more months before we’re reunited with Leif, Halbrand, and the rest of this world’s war-hungry heroes, but considering what areas of the story the next season might focus on, it’ll undoubtedly be worth it Waiting.
