According to the Health day news, earlier vaping was considered a safe alternative for smoking but new Canadian research has declined the fact that it is safe but claimed that Vaping can increase the chances of having asthma or respiratory problems due to asthma attacks in teens as well as adults.
Vaping Can Increase The Chances Of Asthma
Teresa, who is a senior scientist at the Child Health Sciences program at the department for sick children located in Toronto claimed that vaping can increase the chances of asthma as well as it can even worse case if you are already suffering from this and have problems in the respiratory organs.
The main aim of the research was to study the growth and analytical statistics for the increased chances of respiratory issues for people who smoke but later found that vaping can also make you prone to asthma or asthma attacks. Researchers used the data from the community of Health in Canada in the year 2015-2016 and 2017-2018. The study included people age 12 and above.
The participants who were involved in the study were vaping for a month or more. An average of 1 out of 32 claimed that they used traditional cigarettes instead of vaping. The total number of participants was around 17 thousand. Out of these around 1 out of 8 people has asthma which is around 13 percent of participants. E-cigarette users had around 19 percent higher chances to have asthma or asthma attacks claimed by the researchers.
New smokers had the chance of 20 percent to deal with asthma or asthma attack in near future and a 33 percent higher risk of asthma and asthma attack for those who have been smoking for a longer time. The research claimed that about half of the participants who used e-cigarettes and also suffer from asthma had an asthma attack in the past 12 months.
But the participants who never smoked and only used e-cigarettes for a month or two had been traced for having asthma or asthma attack. The study also found that participants who were vaping had an increased chance of 15 percent suffering from mental illness and those who did not have a chance of 7 percent.
The e-cigarettes had a data of 60 percent self-reported stress levels in the smokers. The study was started to find causations but researchers then found the relationship between vaping and asthma or asthma attacks.
Doctors said that we noticed quite a significant relationship between vaping and asthma, but more research is needed to find evidence that can clearly prove the symptoms and affect. They claimed that if you have asthma and still you use e-cigarettes it can seriously make your health worse and you should immediately stop it. Other studies also claimed death due to asthma and lung damage.
These contain nicotine and can increase the heart rate of the body, increase blood pressure, and can lead to cardiovascular diseases. E-cigarettes were launched as an alternative to traditional cigarettes but now it is found that they can lead to asthma and asthma attacks in the worst cases.
