Missouri health care system CEO Steve Edwards says that health experts are not effectively inspiring people to get vaccinated. He says he is in dire desperation to figure out how to convince people to get vaccinated.

Recently it was found that more than 100 people died even after the vaccination was available everywhere. The percentage of vaccinated people is not even half of the population.

The mistrust of government and vaccination fear is still a major contributor to the low vaccination rate. Edward says he feels guilty of all the death happening around him and how people are still negligent for vaccination. He feels even his voice is unable to convince people to get vaccinated.

Surgeon Vivek Murthy believes the Delta variant of coronavirus is rapidly spreading among unvaccinated people. They are the ones getting critically ill and being hospitalized. Delta variant is said to be the most transmissible form of Coronavirus.

Though people show hesitancy Murthy says the doctors and health workers continue to work hard to get everyone vaccinated. There is progress in people’s mindset to get vaccinated but the progress has to fast.

Self-made wound

Dr.Peter Hotez is of the opinion that the rise in deaths and hospitalizations is a self-inflicted wound because prevention is possible by vaccination. According to data from John Hopkins University, there was a considerable increase in cases in all the states compared to previous weeks. Despite repeated warnings from CDC and health experts, the pace at which people are getting vaccinated is slow.

US government has purchased about 200 million doses of Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines. Ironically only 48 % of the total US population is vaccinated.

Masks

The rapid increase in the spread of the virus has made many reconsider bringing back strict mask policies. Hospitalizations have increased up to 53% compared to last month and death rates have topped up to 19%. It should be noted that around 97% of these health complications are reported by unvaccinated.  Though vaccinations are a shield against viruses the rate of vaccination is still slow. Masks are the best where vaccination levels remain low. Masking, hand washing and physical distance help everyone to curb the spread of pandemics.

The Government would be providing resources to boost up the vaccination rates especially in rural clinics. The FDA has been working on vaccination approval for children. In North Carolina, FEMA will be deploying mobile clinics for vaccination.

Misconceptions about Vaccine

According to analysis half of people who said they will probably not get vaccinated said they didn’t trust the vaccine. Renowned US Surgeon Dr.Vivek Murthy told many don’t have access to correct information right now. Now social media platforms are flooded with misinformation about vaccination. He suggests one of the best ways to get your doubts cleared is to have conversations with friends and family.

Delta variant and Vaccination

Delta variant must be taken more seriously if not vaccinated says Dr. Walensky. Data shows that vaccines are working as expected and as in clinical trials. Three major measures to adopt to protect against the delta are getting vaccinated, staying masked and good ventilation. Opening windows at home is a really good habit to adopt.
