On August 6, 2022, during Crunchyroll Expo 2022, Crunchyroll announced that Tower of God 2nd Season is officially in production and has released a trailer on its official YouTube channel.

The trailer highlights Rachel’s betrayal of Bam, but we see he has a mysterious savior. How will this event affect Bam in the future? Will he remain friends with his former allies, or will he be forced to serve a new master? Rachel is seen repeatedly betraying Bam, but her true motives for wanting to climb the tower are not yet known.

Webtoon readers like me know that Tower of God Season 1 was really just a prologue and that the real story begins now. Bam will gain new god-like powers and make new friends and powerful enemies. He will assume an entirely new identity as Jue Viole Grace when FUG forcibly recruits him.

Many people will die. Tower of Betrayal will not be a walk in the park. The Tower of God Season 2 hype is real!

A new keyframe that has been released shows Bam’s long hairdo, meaning the anime will likely show the events through to the end until he meets Ja Wangnan – the blond boy featured in the image and a close friend and ally will by Bam. What is Wangnan’s mysterious connection to Karakas (a FUG hunter)?

SUI, the creator of the manhwa/webtoon Tower of God, also created an illustration to celebrate the announcement of the production of Tower of God Season 2 and shared a comment.

It feels like Tower of God Season 1 came out just yesterday and now my fans will be able to see more of the story in Season 2. I am very grateful to the production staff for bringing my manhwa to life and it could not have happened without the support of the readers. I can’t wait to see how Season 2 will pan out, but I have high hopes. I want to thank my fans and readers for their continued support!

What is the plot of Tower of God?

Tower of God revolves around a boy named Twenty-Fifth Bam. (The name “Bam” means “night” or “chestnut” in Korean). Bam has been living in a strange underground cavernous place with no other people for many years until he suddenly meets a young girl named Rachel. Rachel informs him that he lives under a huge and mysterious tower and befriends Bam.

Due to the fact that Bam has never had any other human interaction, Rachel becomes more than just a friend to him – she is a mother figure, a sister figure, and a best friend. She is the only “family” Bam has ever known. Rachel means everything to Bam, and when she reveals she’s going to leave him to try climbing the tower to fulfill a certain wish, he’s devastated.

Bam decides to do whatever it takes to follow Rachel and manages to find a way into the tower. Bam is determined to see Rachel again, even if it means death.

Shortly after entering the tower, Bam must fight for his life, gathering allies along the way as he attempts to climb the tower in search of Rachel. Things get complicated when he meets Rachel, who wants nothing more to do with him. Bam’s mysterious past also haunts him as he attempts to climb the tower and make amends with Rachel.

Where can I watch Tower of God Season 1?

The anime was inspired by a manhwa/webtoon written and illustrated by SIU. As of July 2022, the chapters of the manhwa have been collected into ten volumes by Young Com Publishing.

In April 2020, Tower of God aired simultaneously in Japan, South Korea, and the United States. The anime was produced by Telecom Animation Film, with Aniplex handling Japanese productions and Sola Entertainment handling production management.

Takashi Sano directed the anime series with Hirokazu Hanai as assistant director. Erika Yoshida wrote the screenplay. Masashi Kudo and Miho Tanino were responsible for character design. Kevin Penkin composed the music. The opening song “Top” and the closing song “Slum” were both performed by Korean band Stray Kids.

Tower of God streamed as Crunchyroll Original. The English version was licensed by Viz Media for home video distribution in North America, and on January 18, 2022 the series was released on Blu-ray DVD.
