The top anime franchises feature some very seductive male and female characters, who manage to seduce other characters easily in order to manipulate them or make them fall head-over-heels in love with them. These characters in particular are not only seductive but also sexy and cunning.
But what makes an anime character the “best” in the art of seduction? The best seducers are able to use their unique abilities, whether it is a supernatural charming skill or inherent charm, to instantly win the hearts of their targets. These characters could give cupid a run for their money.
Another key quality is their attractiveness and sense of style. These characters are sexy and well-dressed, which tends to make them unforgettable. If these anime characters were brought into the real world they would be sure to cause traffic accidents if they walked down the street a la Pretty Woman.
My Top 10 most seductive anime characters list includes the ones that were unforgettable for the above reasons.
1. My Hero Academia’s Midnight
Nemuri Kayama was a Pro Hero and teacher at U.A. High School, who taught Modern Hero Art History. Her hero name is “R-Rated Hero: Midnight”, although she is usually just referred to as Midnight.
Midnight was a formidable combatant due to the effective use of her Somnambulist Quirk, which allowed her to spread a sleep-inducing aroma that when inhaled by her enemies would put them into a deep sleep.
Midnight had a dominatrix theme, but her costume and support gear actually aided her Quirk. The thin material of her outfit allowed her scent to pass through more easily. Her whips and fans were designed to pick up traces of her scent and launch it in an enemy’s direction, giving her more accuracy in her attacks.
When dealing with a close-ranged opponent that didn’t have a breathing device, it would be easy for her to incapacitate them with one wave of her feathery fan. Midnight also had a sadistic side and was seen enjoying tormenting her opponents.
Midnight’s entire theme revolved around “seduction”, which made her an odd choice for a teacher with her sexy outfit and dominatrix personality. Students like Kaminari and Mineta struggled to control their lustful impulses in her presence alone.
Midnight’s alluring aesthetic is what got her chosen to be the officiator of the Sports Festival. Midnight was good at helping the heroes come up with their hero names and costumes since she was good at knowing what people wanted.
2. Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Sokka
Sokka was a Water Tribe warrior of the Southern Water Tribe and the son of Chief Hakoda and Kya. Sokka was raised by his grandmother Kanna, along with his younger sister Katara, after the death of his mother and his father’s departure for war. Throughout, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Sokka had a penchant for flirting with young girls and gaining their affection.
When Sokka encountered Princess Yue of the Northern Water Tribe he fell in love with her at first sight and started to court her. At first, it appeared as though his feelings were reciprocated until Yue said they couldn’t see each other anymore due to the fact she was engaged to Hahn. In reality, her engagement to Hahn was a political union and she didn’t love him.
Yue later admitted that she had feelings for Sokka, but felt she couldn’t abandon her people and their customs for his sake. Their star-crossed love came to a tragic end when Yue sacrificed her mortal form to save the waterbender’s patron Moon Spirit after Admiral Zhao killed its mortal form. Yue only exists now as the reincarnation of Tui, the Moon Spirit.
Before Yue sacrificed herself she gave Sokka a kiss and promised to remain with him in spirit. Yue’s loss deeply affected Sokka and after her “reincarnation as the moon goddess” had visions of Yue confronting him and asking why he’d failed to protect her.
Later, when Suki found Sokka alone at night and staring at the moon she casually commented on how beautiful the moon was and Sokka swiftly agreed while obviously thinking about Yue.
When the Moon Spirit was blamed for the disappearances happening in Hama village Sokka quickly leaped to the Moon’s Spirit defense and said she was a loving lady who ruled the sky with “lunar goodness”. In the end, Sokka was able to seduce a girl who literally became the moon.
3. Full Metal Alchemist’s Lust
Lust is a villainess of the Full Metal Alchemist manga and its two anime adaptations. She is the first of the Seven Homunculi to be introduced and plays a key role in the first part of the series.
Fullmetal Alchemist’s “father” divided pieces of himself into bodies that came to be known as Homunculus and was in truth the father of the Seven Homunculi. Lust was seduction incarnate and used her feminine wiles to lure her enemies into a false sense of security before unleashing her attack.
Lust had a calm demeanor and sexy appearance that made her more approachable than the other members of the Seven Homunculi. Lust was able to freely kill those who opposed her master’s wishes due to the fact she didn’t have a reputation to maintain like King Bradley and Selim. Although she was pure evil, many anime fans still mourned her death due to the fact she’d won their hearts.
4. Inuyasha’s Miroku
Miroku is a houshi (monk) who traveled with Inuyasha, Kagome, Shippou, and Sango in their quest to recover the fragments of the Shikon Jewel. Fifty years prior to the events in the series, Miroku’s father was cursed by Naraku, which gave birth to the creation of the Kazanna – a literal void in the palm of his hand that would one day consume the bearer completely. This curse was destined to be passed down to all of his male descendants, which is how Miroku ended up with the void in his hand.
Throughout Miroku’s adventure with Inuyasha and the others anytime he came across a beautiful young woman he just couldn’t help himself but try and attempt to seduce her. Miroku had it in his head that having an heir that would continue to try to break the curse was extremely important.
Although he flirted with women boldly he was never overbearing or pushy and respected their boundaries. This meant that the women were never really angry with Miroku and even though they rarely returned his affections they tended to be flattered by his advances.
Sango was usually the one who did her best to interrupt Miroku’s constant flirting. The few times she wasn’t around the women would actually fall for Miroku, but when Sango showed up to berate him for his behavior she usually put a stop to anything happening between Miroku and another woman.
In the end, Sango revealed that although Miroku was a womanizer she’d fallen in love with him. Miroku revealed that he’d always loved her and the two of them finally got together. After Sango and Miroku became an official couple, he stopped trying to seduce other women and became a “one woman” man.
5. One Piece’s Boa Hancock
In One Piece, Boa Hancock, also known as the “Pirate Empress”, is the captain of the Kuja Pirates, and was the only female Warlord of the Seas before the organization’s disbandment. Currently, she is the “Snake Princess” of the island Amazon Lily and rules over the Kuja tribe along with her two younger Gorgon sisters: Boa Sandersonia and Boa Marigold.
Hancock’s Devil Fruit gives her the ability to petrify anyone who looks at her lustfully which given her overall attractiveness is extremely effective. Hancock is seen using her ability against entire naval battalions and managing to turn them all to stone, which makes her attack almost as effective as Conqueror’s Haki.
If Hancock is knocked unconscious her Devil Fruit power isn’t disabled and theoretically would remain after her death, in the event she was killed. This gives her an edge against opponents she is unable to seduce. Due to Luffy easily befriending Hancock and not treating her like an “object of desire”, he was able to steal her heart. Currently, Hancock only has eyes for the future King of the Pirates. In that sense, Luffy may be as great a seducer as she is.
6. One Piece’s Sanji
Sanji Vinsmoke, also known as “Black Leg Sanji”, is the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the senior officers of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. After the Baratie Arc, he decided to join Luffy’s crew in order to one day reach the All Blue – a mythical ocean that contains every type of fish in existence.
While many One Piece fans would argue Sanji isn’t skilled in the art of seduction due to his over-the-top way of flirting, his persistent flirting and attempts to charm women have saved his life on multiple occasions. During the Whole Cake Island Arc, at first Pudding just pretended to like Sanji when she really hated him. But her hatred was under the assumption that Sanji was just like everyone else and that as soon as he saw her third eye he could think she was an ugly monster.
However, Sanji surprised Pudding and completely caught her off guard when he saw her third eye and declared that it was beautiful. Sanji continued to compliment Pudding until she lost her will to kill him, and started to develop feelings for him instead. In the end, Pudding even kissed Sanji but erased his memory of that event.
During the Dressrosa Arc, Sanji continually flirted with Viola and tried to seduce her until she was eventually convinced to turn against the Donquixote Family despite having served them for more than ten years! In Viola, the Straw Hats gained a very powerful ally who was able to give them insight into what was actually happening on Dressrosa and was able to use her Devil Fruit ability to scry and see what was happening across multiple battlefields.
Sanji may come on a little too strong with his flirting techniques, but in the end manages to win the hearts of the ladies by being a true gentleman, who is willing to sacrifice his own life in order to protect them. Eventually, the girls are able to see past Sanji’s silly behavior and realize that he’s a truly kind and sincere person.
Even Nami was heartbroken when Sanji basically told her to “get lost” during the Whole Cake Island Arc, which revealed that she may care more for Sanji than she lets anyone know.
7. Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun’s Ix Elizabetta
In Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, Ix Elizabetta is a female succubus demon and student at Babyls Demon School where she is a classmate of the hero Iruma Suzuki. She is also a part of the “Abnormal Class”.
Using her family’s Bloodline Magic, Favorability (Full Love Gauge) and ability “Eager To Please”, which attracts men to her smell, Elizabetta is able to compel male demons to try and gain her favor or do whatever she requests of them.
Elizabetta controls how much of her scent is released by opening and closing the zipper on her clothes. This makes her ability very similar to Midnight’s, and means that if Elizabetta walked around wearing an outfit like Midnight’s men would be falling at her feet left and right as she walked along. If Elizabetta overuses her ability, however, she becomes affected by the mood.
Recently, Elizabetta trained her ability to gain the skill “Paramount Charm”, which allows her to seduce men not just by her pheromone-like smell, but by her attractive appearance alone. Once glance her way and the male demons want to give or say whatever she wants.
Elizabetta is seen manipulating Lied into compelling him to give her all the ingredients he collected during the Harvest Festival. It doesn’t help that Lied already has a crush on Elizabetta, so is completely at her mercy when she uses her ability on him. Elizabetta claims to “like” Lied, but this is because she likes everyone from the Abnormal Class a lot. When Elizabetta truly likes someone her ability won’t work on them, so make sure to keep an eye out for when her ability fails.
8. Castlevania’s Lenore
Lenora is a vampire villainess that was introduced during the third season of Castlevania. Lenora is one of the Four Queens of Styria, a vampire Kingdom, and a member of the Council of Sisters, where she served as their diplomat. She was assigned to convince Hector to help the Council build an army of night creatures.
In Castlevania, Hector was a brilliant forgemaster with the ability to summon the armies of Hell. After Lenore and her sisters captured Hector they struggled to procure his allegiance but considering his abilities he was indispensable to their plans.
Over time, Lenore gained Hector’s trust by pretending to become his friend. With her innocent and girlish appearance, Hector couldn’t help but let his guard down. Later, she seduced him and tricked him into wearing an enchanted ring that bound him to her will and forced him to comply with the she-vampire’s demands.
Although, Lenore broke Hector’s trust he couldn’t stifle the feelings he’d developed for her. Lenore was able to use the art of seduction to accomplish what her more powerful sisters could not. After Hector managed to turn the tides of the battle against the vampires, he wanted to continue living with Lenore but she wouldn’t live as his prisoner and decided to step into the sunlight. Hector cried for hours after Lenore’s death.
9. Death Note’s Light Yagami
Light Yagami is the main anti-hero of Death Note. When he finds Ryuk’s Death Note and discovers its ability he decides to use it to cleanse the world of evil by killing criminals. The people of Japan start to consider their mysterious savior a hero and dub him “Kira”.
In Death Note, Light was the most seductive character. He was able to charm Misa Amane into having her use her shinigami eyes to help him and reaped the benefits of this ability without having to halve his own life. By keeping Misa wrapped around his finger he was able to use her as a patsy when his schemes went awry, and she unknowingly helped with L’s downfall.
It’s hard to say how Light really felt about Misa beyond how he was able to use her. Even though he was in a “relationship” with Misa he later seduced an influential reporter in an attempt to sway public opinion of Kira. When Light knew he’d ultimately been defeated, however, he called out the names of Misa and the reporter. Light was great at pretending to be in love, but the question remains if he ever felt any real love for the women he seduced.
10. Chainsaw Man’s Makima
In Chainsaw Man, Makima is a high-ranking Public Safety Devil Hunter, who discovers Denji while on a mission to take down the Zombie Devil. When she encounters him, she’s instantly able to tell that he’s not a Devil but a human-devil hybrid. Makima offers Denji a deal – he can become her loyal dog or he can be killed as a Devil.
Makima was able to win Denji’s heart easily by being the first person to show him human kindness. When Denji asked for a hug after defeating the zombified yakuza and losing his best friend Pochita, Makima was brave enough to hug Denji even while his chainsaws were out.
Later, Makima lent Denji her jacket when she noticed he was cold and treated him to a meal. These small acts of kindness towards Denji softened his heart towards her so that he “fell in love” with her almost instantly. Makima was also the first girl he’d ever really talked to.
But Denji isn’t the only man who has succumbed to Makima’s feminine wiles. Aki also has an enormous crush on her, and other Devil Hunters are seen admiring Makima due to her attractiveness, and aura of authority that makes the men want to bow before her a submit. But is this only due to her natural charm or does something more sinister lurk behind Makima’s beautiful face?
