In the newly released film, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Yankovic’s parents are played by Julianne Nicholson and Toby Huss. On the Lights Camera Barstool podcast, Thomas Lennon, who plays an accordion salesman in the film, recalls the day he was filming a scene opposite Huss, who literally wasn’t holding back any punches.[Huss] gave me such a beating, it’s been a really long day,” Lennon said around the hour of the episode. “He definitely connected to my face a couple of times.” Lennon went on to detail how they were all supposed to be false punches, but in the excitement of the scene, a couple of Haymakers connected. “But I can take it, I can take it,” he said unconvincingly.

That wasn’t all Lennon had to endure from Huss’ overzealous performance. The scene also required a chair to be broken across his back. Although the chair is made from fragile balsa wood, the ‘Reno: 911’ star wasn’t quite comfortable in it just yet. “That was the only thing I was really nervous about,” he admitted. “It’s never as easy as you think, Toby’s aiming for my spinal cord, which makes my legs work and stuff.” Well, that probably over-the-top realism added to the film’s quality, with Lennon sacrificing his body for the weirder .
