The Young Sheldon Actress Who Started On The Disney Channel

Fans who have decided Georgie needs more scenes with Mandy and Meemaw will be happy to know that Mandy McAllister, the 29-year-old friend who is now pregnant with 17-year-old Georgie’s baby, will be doing much more in Season 6 will be seen. The actress who plays her, Emily Osment, has been upgraded to series regular by the deadline.

“The Sixth Sense” star Haley Joel Osment’s younger sister, Emily Osment, also started acting at a young age. She was 7 years old when her first movie, The Secret Lives of Girls, premiered in 1999 on IMDb. Her breakthrough role as Gerti Giggles came in 2002’s Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams, which earned her the Young Artist Award and which she repeated in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. At 15, she officially joined the House of Mouse with the role of Lilly Truscott, best friend of the main character of the same name (Miley Cyrus) on the huge Disney Channel hit series Hannah Montana. Like her BFF on this show, Osment is also a singer-songwriter.

While Disney and “Hannah Montana” occupied her for years, Osment moved on to the ABC family (now Freeform, Disney-owned) sitcom “Young & Hungry” and via Chuck Lorre, creator of “The Big Bang Theory,” ” Young Sheldon” and others. She appeared in an episode of Two and a Half Men in 2013 and then worked with Lorre again on Mom and The Kominsky Method, so it’s not too surprising that he wanted to keep her for Sheldon.
