Buring, who exudes a very Tissaia-like warmth in her interviews, remarked on the UK premiere of The Witcher season 2 that she’s very different from her character… and that she loves it. “I love that austere exterior that hides a really warm, beating heart,” she told HeyUGuys. “In my real life, I’m not that strict at all. So it’s really fun to be able to play that ridiculous seriousness and that tremendous power because it’s as far from me as it gets.”
And that ridiculous seriousness could get a whole lot more serious in Season 3 of The Witcher as the show continues to draw on its literary source material. Finally, in the second novel of the Witcher saga, Time of Contempt, Tissaia allies with Vilgefortz and battles Yennefer. This dramatic mother-daughter-esque conflict could undoubtedly give Buring even more juicy material to work with — and even more reasons to love her character.
