The Underappreciated Pelé Biopic That’s Definitely Worth Your Time

In 2016, the biopic “Pelé: Birth of a Legend” was released, starring US actor Vincent D’Onofrio, Kevin de Paula as Pelé, Diego Boneta and Mariana Nunes. This particular film is not an all-encompassing affair covering all moments of Pelé’s remarkable life, instead focusing on his upbringing and eventual joining as a professional footballer and eventually his first world title in 1958. The YouTube trailer illustrates what the Viewers can expect from the film how important football is to Brazil and young Pelé’s drive to bring his country a World Cup. Though young Pelé initially struggles to find his place in the world, he begins to understand his latent abilities and abilities.

Biography.com’s Rotten Tomatoes review for Pelé: Birth of a Legend states: “The predictability of the film is offset by a grandiose score, which combines multiple styles of Latin music, colorful production design, lots of special effects and some memorable ones plays consists of child actors who portray Pele.”
