The Surprise Breaking Bad Cameo We Didn’t See Coming On The Better Call Saul Finale

Read Time:1 Minute, 22 Second

In the final episode of “Better Call Saul,” Saul aka Jimmy McGill is eventually arrested by the police while hiding in a dumpster, and while he believes his game is finally up, a message pointing to the inside inspires him scrawled in a brig is him to once again channel the cunning of his Saul persona. He decides to play hard with the prosecutor, and although Saul’s crimes could potentially land him in prison for several centuries, he manages to sow doubt in the attorney’s mind.

This is where the real surprise appearance comes into play. As Saul recounts all his crimes, he looks over to an office with a one-way mirror. He asks if Hank Schrader’s (Dean Norris) widow is present, then asks her to come out. Both parties agree and fans get a chance to see none other than Marie Schrader (Betsy Brandt). After a barb from Marie, Saul tries his magic and explains how fear of Walter kept him going; he then apologizes to Marie. She has none of it, however, and you can tell a simmering hatred simmers beneath the surface, before saying that no prison sentence would be enough when it comes to Saul. Saul is then offered a measly 30 years for his crimes if he pleads guilty, much to Marie’s great shock.

In the next scene, she storms out of the room, but she later appears in the courtroom during Saul Goodman’s cleansing confession. Ultimately, she gets her to wish it, as his confession will bring him far more than the seven years (plus ice) that lie ahead of him.
