John Cena appeared at a Comic-Con event in Wales in 2022, where he answered questions from the audience. During the question and answer session, he shed light on the advice Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gave him when he was first getting the ball rolling with his acting career. “‘They asked you there for a reason, dude. Just be yourself.’ He allowed me to calm down in that one sentence,” Cena recalled to the crowd, explaining that it made it easier for him to show his goofy side on productions like “Trainwreck” and HBO Max’s “Peacemaker,” Total writes Cena Johnson credits much of his success.
Considering her heated personal history, it’s great to know that Cena and “The Rock” have such a great relationship now behind the scenes. Although after their matches at WrestleMania XXVIII 2012 and WrestleMania 29 2013, fans are excited to see the two face off again – this time in the Fast & Furious franchise. When asked in an interview with Geek Culture if we would see Johnson’s Luke Hobbs and Cena’s Jakob Toretto meet in the cinema, the latter actor said: “I look forward to a possible moment like this, but there are no guarantees. I hope that happens, and when audiences around the world hope the same.”
It’s not common for former professional wrestlers to find success in Hollywood, but if the likes of John Cena and Dwayne Johnson have proven one thing, it’s that transition isn’t impossible.
