The Rings Of Power Season 1

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

The eyesight of the elves is shown to its fullest in The Lord of the Rings. In both the books and films, Legolas is always one step ahead of his companions because he can literally see what’s coming from miles away. Aragorn famously asks him what his elven eyes see in order to track down the Uruk-hai he, Legolas and Gimli are hunting across Rohan.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power takes this impressive Elvish attribute to the next level. In Episode 4, Elrond does not discover what secret Durin is hiding from him and Celebrimbor. After the sly and withdrawn Disa fails to get the information out, the half-Elf hero resorts to a less sophisticated form of detective work: espionage. Luckily, he has his overpowered elf eyes to help, which brings us to another one of his best moments.

As Durin and Disa discuss their secret mining expedition to mithril, Elrond oversees the conversation from a distant bridge in Khazad-dûm. He lip-reads their conversation and eventually discovers the information he has been chasing through this unique form of visual eavesdropping. The way the scene is shot is not only a cool use of Elvish vision, but also a fun new way to show off the dazzling ability on screen.
