The return to the Forman house will cause some nostalgia whiplash among fans awaiting their return to Point Place. All of the main components of the house are clearly the same, which makes sense since it was filmed using the same sets (via The Things). Given how much time has passed in the series, the sets needed a little refreshment, so some aspects have been changed.

Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp explained some of these changes in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. As Rupp explained, “The wallpaper in this scene is very different now. It’s all berries. They’re little berries.” The two actors then try to figure out what else has changed since “That ’70s Show,” and realize the phone is still there, but the wallpaper has been redesigned. Rupp also notes that the kitchen is generally larger, which makes trading easier since they have more space.

The small changes like this help keep the show from feeling stagnant. Of course, Kitty and Red would redesign certain areas of their home, and it helps that the show feels familiar without being entirely the same. That ’90s Show Season 1 is currently available on Netflix.
