The Entire NCIS Timeline Explained

In January 2023, the franchise released its first three-part crossover, featuring episodes Too Many Cooks, Deep Fake, and A Long Time Coming from NCIS, Hawaii, and Los Angeles. The crossover begins when the DC and Hawaii agents gather for a party to celebrate a FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers) professor, only for him to die by suicide before making it to the shindig. Of course, this is going to be a cross-location case, and we can see the crews bouncing around in new locations as they try to make sense of what happened to the Professor, in true procedural fashion, adding a slew of new clues and exciting action sequences along the way.

Although the story is a classic NCIS crime drama, the best thing for many fans of the franchise is definitely the nerdy joy that comes from seeing all of these characters, some of whom have met before and others who haven’t all met together yet the small screen. Though first brought together by a shared fondness for a former professor who has influenced their entire lives, the camaraderie between these agents is evident even as they argue over who’s in charge and whose job it is, what to do with the characterization, the witty dialogue and human connections that have made “NCIS” and its many offshoots the success they are.

If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing or calling 988g 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
