The Ending Of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Explained

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 15 Second

When it becomes clear that Goku and Vegeta won’t be coming home to help fight the Red Ribbon Army and their androids, Piccolo comes up with another idea to protect the world. He visits Dende and asks if he would be able to unlock his latent potential like the Grand Elder Guru did for Krillin and Gohan on Namek during the Frieza saga. Unfortunately, Dende doesn’t have that ability yet – although he’s a Kami, he’s still very young and some skills will only come with time.

But Dende suggests asking Shenron to unlock Piccolo’s power and upgrades the dragon before Piccolo and Bulma call him. When Piccolo asks Shenron to unlock his latent potential, Shenron grants his wish, saying that not only will he unlock all of Piccolo’s potential, but he will also give him “a little bit more”.

When Piccolo fights Cell Max at the film’s climax, we see exactly what this perk does for him. He becomes bulkier and his face expands with a more angular jaw line, but beyond that his color changes from green to orange. He doesn’t even realize he’s changed color and only realizes it when Gohan tells him. When asked for a name for his new shape, he settles on the rather simple “Orange Piccolo”.

Piccolo is able to use this new orange form – along with his classic Namekian abilities like growing and stretching his limbs – to work with Gohan and eventually bring Cell Max down.
