As mentioned above, the staff who staff Chicago Med wards seem fair game when it comes to putting their lives on the line, or at least putting their bodies in a hospital bed. As seen in a promotional photo on NBC’s press information page, the doctor who will be staying at Gaffney Med in season 8 is obstetrician-gynecologist (and recovered heroin addict) Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram). The photo shows Asher clutching an arm anxiously with what appears to be a severe bruise on the left side of her forehead. Another promotional photo posted from the same episode shows her in a hospital corridor, supported on either side by doctors Choi and Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss).
While we don’t know the nature of Asher’s injury or how she sustained it, her worried expression in either photo isn’t exactly reassuring. Additionally, the caption credits the season 8 premiere titled How Do You Begin to Count the Losses. The plot of the episode is not yet known, but the title alone sounds a bit dark.
Right now we can only hope for Hannah as we await the debut of Season 8 of Chicago Med, which airs on NBC along with the season premieres of its sister shows, One Chicago, on Wednesday, September 21 ( via NBC.com).
