The “Bones” character that fans had a hard time warming up to was none other than Dr. Camille Saroyan (Tamara Taylor), who emerged as the new big boss of the crime-fighting crew at the start of season two. And according to a recent Reddit thread, the Jeffersonian gang wasn’t the only ones who had trouble accepting them. This thread titled ‘Wish They Had Done Cam Differently’ was started by u/KHGOB13 who further added: ‘Wish they had presented Cam differently as she is proving to be controlling and trying to throw her weight around in the worst possible way . “
Supporting posts soon filled the comments section, with u/ellecellent adding, “I thought the same. It took me a while to like them and I probably would have liked them from the start if they hadn’t done it that way.” and u /surprisedbananna came along: “I didn’t really like them at first either. She seemed really rude and I thought she was constantly being inappropriate towards the others on the team…she calms down in later seasons, but it never goes away completely.”
Many users were quick to note Cam’s authoritarian approach to leading the team as the reason for her deterrence, although some, like u/Awkward_Dog, were quick to note that this wasn’t entirely unfounded: “…she’s kinda right to want to be an authoritarian leader, huh.” with Hodgins ‘borrowing’ stuff from other departments, Bones not being fully transparent, Booth following his gut, etc.”
Whether they loved or hated Cam from an early age, most “Bones” fans still agreed with u/GeezBones’ claim that the actress who played the role was amazing at every turn: “I got her like that in the beginning very hated!!” they wrote. “But I grew to love her in the end… TT did a hell of a job with the character.”
