The Best Time Will Ferrell Broke Character On SNL

Read Time:1 Minute, 14 Second

The break in question occurs in the sketch “Dr. Beaman’s Office: Test Results.” This isn’t the first time fans have spotted Dr. See Beaman, who is one of Will Ferrell’s recurring characters on SNL. Just the sight of the ridiculously rude and incompetent doctor invites laughter as Beaman insults the visitors sitting across from him, regardless of their outraged reactions. The two parents – played by Chris Parnell and Molly Shannon – are there to get test results for their newborn baby, who has been in Beaman’s care for a week.

Beaman dodges the question until the couple demands a direct answer, at which point he finally admits their son is… a witch. He claims there is nothing he can do and brings in a colleague, Dr. Steven Poop (Tim Meadows) to help resolve the matter. Unfortunately, Dr. Poop doesn’t help them and instead shows off his break-dancing skills by making the robot.

At this point Ferrell breaks his character. When he says his next sentence, he can hardly contain his laughter. The man doesn’t even grin during most of the sketches, but in the presence of Dr. Even legends can fall poop. Before he can continue, Ferrell lets out a small grin and has to cover his mouth before he can finish the sentence. It might not be a huge, heartbreaking break, but given his track record, it’s certainly one of the most memorable slips in Ferrell’s comedic “SNL” performances.
