On Reddit, u/CNMartin916 made a post asking, “What’s the best show that only lasted one season and wasn’t called ‘Firefly’?” In response, u/Truthisnotallowed listed a bunch of other one-season shows that were similarly great but were canceled early, including 2010’s crime-drama series Terriers. Discussing the cult-favorite TV show, the Redditor called Terriers an “amazing show” that “did it.” only had one season for some reason”.
The user’s mention of “Terriers” motivated a number of other Redditors in the thread to join their love for the underrated series, and many named it their favorite show for a season. For example, u/heyelander responded to their fellow Redditor’s comment by noting that “‘Terrier’ was awesome,” while u/mpup55 wrote, “‘Terrier’ is the only correct answer.” Elsewhere, u/ Kithsander also took the time to comment that Terriers was amazing.
For those who don’t know, “Terriers” aired on FX in 2010 and starred Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James as two unlicensed private investigators. Unfortunately, while the show received mostly positive reviews when it aired (via Rotten Tomatoes), it was not renewed for a second season (via Los Angeles Times) and only produced 13 episodes total. The good news is that while the show’s lifespan was disappointingly short, its legacy lives on thanks to the efforts of its dedicated fans.
