The best episode of the “Charmed” reboot is the season four premiere, according to IMDb. An interesting trend with “Charmed” is that the fan response has only gotten better over the years. Fan ratings on IMDb have steadily increased from season to season, although some of that could be due to an initial backlash to the reboot of the popular original series. The show’s pilot, for example, has its lowest rating at 5.5, but the season four premiere titled “Not That Girl” has a rating of 7.9/10 at the time of writing — the best the show has received has date.
The episode places its characters at perhaps their lowest point, with sisters Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffrey) struggling with their powers and place in life without their other sister, Macy (Madeleine Mantock). The season premiere followed the shocking announcement that Mantock would be leaving the series before the season 3 finale, saying the decision was made to pursue other ventures (via TV Line). Ironically, one of the three sisters in the original series, played by Shannen Doherty, also chose to leave the show after Season 3 (per People). The original show would run for 100 more episodes, though, so the Charmed reboot might have nothing to worry about even without Mantock.
