Tales Of The Jedi Episode 5 Features A Blink-And-You’ll-Miss-It Kanan Cameo

Star Wars: Rebels fans will remember Kanan Jarrus as a fugitive Jedi Padawan who escaped the Order 66 massacre after his master, Depa Billaba, gave her life to protect him. After a long period in exile (during which Kanan all but abandoned his Jedi past), he later became the de facto master and teacher of the Force-sensitive Ezra Bridger (Taylor Gray) – and played an integral part in the early days of the fledgling Rebel Alliance.

At the very beginning of Episode 5 of Tales of the Jedi, we get a glimpse of a young Kanan Jarus watching Ahsoka Tano fight several spherical training droids. Sitting on a bench next to his master, Billaba, he smiles in amazement as Ahsoka dashes through the air, deflecting blaster fire from every angle. While there are a few flashbacks to Kanan’s youth in “Rebels,” seeing him revisited as a child in the Jedi Temple is certainly quite surprising.

While this anthology series features a variety of cameos from iconic Clone Wars and Rebels characters, Kanan Jarrus’ brief appearance is undoubtedly the most surprising.
