John Williams’ feature-length documentary is said to feature a variety of names on the production side, with Amblin Television, Imagine Documentaries, and Nedland Media reportedly leading the studios (via The Hollywood Reporter). Steven Spielberg is said to be executive producing, along with fellow Oscar winner Ron Howard and longtime collaborator Brian Grazer. Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Justin Wilkes, Sara Bernstein and Meredith Kaulfers will also produce, according to THR.

“This is Johnny’s 90th year on the face of this planet, which has been beneficial for everyone on the planet,” Spielberg said at an event in early January 2022 where he and Williams were honored. The composer later replied, “I enjoyed his company and the pleasure and bounty of his inspiration. Can a muse be a man? He certainly was a muse to me.”

When it comes to Hollywood duos, the 50-year relationship between Williams and Spielberg will probably go down as one of the most epic team-ups in cinema history – with their roster of projects spanning Academy Award winners, National Film Registry nominees and pop consists cultural sensations. Movies like Jaws, ET the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, Munich and Lincoln… there are honestly just too many to list here. With the release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny later this year, Williams and Spielberg have now collaborated on over 30 feature films. So it’s only fitting that Spielberg is now honoring his long-term partner with his own documentary.
