As mentioned above, Ahsoka and Rex’s relationship is shown in Episode 5 entitled “Practice Makes Perfect”. While Anakin’s method of training is unorthodox and dangerous, it challenges Ahsoka beyond what Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda would have expected of her. The training becomes a regular occurrence in Ahsoka’s life, and we see an older Ahsoka, still training under Anakin, employ the method. Although she becomes more experienced each time she participates in the exercise, Captain Rex never stops worrying about Ahsoka, which tugs at the hearts of Star Wars fans.
Reactions to Ahsoka and Rex’s relationship have exploded on Twitter, and they’re saying what every fan thinks. @Padawanisabelle couldn’t handle the fact that Rex was worried about Ahsoka’s health, saying: “Rex was really so nervous for Ahsoka during her training. I’m not fine.” Others like @Giseleb1234She reflected on how long it’s been since fans have seen them together. “Rex bends down to speak to Ahsoka,” they wrote. “I missed their interactions so much.”
Other Star Wars fans have focused on the symbolism contained in mastermind Dave Filoni’s Tales of the Jedi. “Ahsoka trains in the same place she was imprisoned and the first clone trooper to tag her was Jesse and then Rex tagged her and switched to Ahsoka and Rex facing Jesse during Order 66.” @clonehumor written down. “Dave Filoni hits us with all the feelings.”
It’s safe to say that Star Wars fans will love seeing Ahsoka and Rex together again. The duo formed a brother-and-sister-like bond during The Clone Wars and served together as leaders of the 332nd Company within the 501st Legion. The pair would eventually fight their former comrades during the events of Order 66.
Tales of the Jedi is streaming now.
