Small Details You Missed In The Second Thor: Love And Thunder Trailer

Though Thor has had a lot on his mind in recent years in the MCU, his off-screen estrangement from former romantic partner Jane Foster has been a sore point for him. In the latest trailer, Thor sheepishly recites the exact time he was apart from Jane (“Eight Years, Seven Months, and Six Days”) as they reconnect following their debut as Mighty Thor. And although Thor tries to be as nonchalant as possible about reuniting with Jane, it’s clear that this twist of fate has him in his feelings.

Portman’s final live-action appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, though she was featured in Avengers: Endgame through the magic of repurposed The Dark World footage (via Entertainment Weekly ). Of course, MCU fans know that Portman has been set to return to the “Thor” series since San Diego Comic-Con 2019 (via Variety). The teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder gives us our first look at the character’s new costume, but this full-length trailer is our most complete look at Mighty Thor yet.

Though the former Avenger is shocked to see Jane pop up amid what appears to be an intense battle sequence, it’s not as if Thor’s former lover wasn’t on his mind. In fact, given the extreme accuracy of his response about the last time the two interacted, he seems more infatuated with Jane than ever. In another scene, Thor congratulates Jane on her fighting prowess as Mighty Thor and tells her so. We then get a hint that Mighty Thor is doing her best to keep his cool, remarking, “It’s only my first villain.” In response, Thor replies, without a single hint of irony, “You never forget your first.”

Also, at the 1:44 mark, two cloaked warriors clad in forearms appear to be embracing little fingers. While we can’t be sure, something tells us that Thor and Mighty Thor could become an item again.
