According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Schitt’s Creek star who is set to make his Sex Education debut is none other than Daniel Levy. And yes, “Sex Education” will be his first live-action performance on a small screen since “Schitt’s Creek” ended its own vaunted six-year run. Levy, of course, co-created Schitt’s Creek with his father, beloved comedy actor Eugene Levy, who served as producer, writer and frequent director on the show during his tenure. Given all that Levy has been up to on Schitt’s Creek, it’s understandable that he’d want a little downtime after the show wraps up. In a 2021 Today interview, he even admitted that the stress of the show forced him into a neck brace for a short time.
Aside from a downright hilarious American Express ad campaign, Levy has barely been seen since starring opposite Kristen Stewart in the 2020 holiday comedy Happiest Season. It seems it’s finally time for Levy to get back to work, and a recurring role on a Netflix hit like Sex Education couldn’t be a better fit. The actor doesn’t even have to sport a British accent for the show, as THR reports he’s set to portray Thomas Malloy, a US Ivy League tutor to Emma Mackey’s Maeve Wiley, on the show. Season 4 of Sex Education is reportedly currently filming in the UK. While no release date has been set, it can’t get here quick enough with talent like Daniel Levy coming aboard the new season.
