Fan artist @arifinity_ cleared up any doubts about Rudy Pankow taking on the role of a superhero when the user uploaded a mockup of the actor as a human torch. The illustration shows Pankow in a costume similar to that worn by John Krasinski’s Mister Fantastic during his cameo appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He’s in his switched-off state (the version that looks like a real person and not a fiery pillar with eyes), though he raises a flaming fist to indicate the bombastic potential he harbors.
The illustration’s release fanned the flames for those who wanted to see Pankow as the Human Torch, but the coals were heating up even before it was uploaded. The actor’s “Outer Banks” co-star Gary Weeks, who starred as Agent Foster in both “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” expressed his desire in April for the Star joins the MCU. “He can be sweet and amazing, but he also has this burning side,” Weeks told The Direct. “This side that wants to be heard and seen. Just what I think would be perfect for the character and you’re spot on with the hair.”
There are many actors who could be well suited for the role of Human Torch. However, it would be difficult to find anyone with a more fitting resemblance than Pankow for the incendiary member of Marvel’s first family.
