According to a trailer breakdown provided by The Wrap, the exclusive Comic-Con trailer begins with Scott Lang discussing his book, Watch Out for the Little Guy, just before he receives a call telling him his daughter is arresting Cassie became. Later, during an experiment in a lab, Cassie is sucked into a mysterious vortex, and Scott and the Pyms appear to leap after her, where they all end up back in the Quantum Realm. Various societies are shown to exist within the realm, including one inhabited by Bill Murray’s mysterious character. Based on a quick exchange, Murray’s character seems familiar with the original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), from her time in the Empire.
However, it appears that the identity of Murray’s character is never revealed in the trailer, leaving many fans wondering who he might play. It’s also unclear how this mysterious character could be involved in the overall plot with the new Marvel Big Bad, Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), although there are some groundbreaking theories that Kang’s role in the film is different than it is seems. Many Marvel fans on Reddit have guessed Murray’s role, with theories ranging from an older version of Kang to a character named Krylar.
The trailer also revealed MODOK’s live-action debut, albeit briefly. How it all ties together will finally be revealed on February 17, 2023 when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters.
