Play it Cool, Guys will premiere on October 10, 2022, the fall anime season.
The news was revealed on September 7th when a trailer PV for Cool Doji Danshi’s anime adaptation was released.
The show will air October 10, 2022 on TV Tokyo and AT-X and October 13, 2022 on BS11.
The Cool Doji Danshi anime adaptation was first announced in April 2022, following which the main cast and staff were revealed. It was also announced at the time that the anime would begin airing in two courses of 15-minute episodes starting in October 2022.
The trailer PV introduces the main characters as they try to go about their daily lives. It also reveals and previews the Play it Cool OP theme song, Guys, “Seishun Kippu” (“Youth Ticket”) by Mafumafu.
The trailer also reveals eight other character casts. These include:
- Satomi Satou as Asami Futami
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Sota Shiki
- Taku Yashiro as Kurosaki
- Kengo Takanashi as Akai
- Seiichiro Yamashita as Kida
- Kouhei Amasaki as Aoyama
- Haruka Shiraishi as Momo Momozaki
- Du Taichi as Akane Benino

The cast and staff of Play it Cool, Guys
The main cast of the anime includes:
- Chiaki Kobayashi (Askeladd in the Vinland saga) as Hayate Ichikura
- Kouki Uchiyama (Meruem in Hunter x Hunter) as Shun Futami
- Yuuichirou Umehara (Goblin Slayer as Goblin Slayer) as Takayuki Mima
- Shouya Chiba (Ayanokoji in Elite Classroom) as Souma Shiki
Chiaki Kon is directing the anime at Studio Pierrot. Makoto Uezu is in charge of the series’ scripts. Airi Taguchi is designing the characters and also serves as Chief Animation Director. Masato Nakayama is composing the music.

The anime Play it Cool, Guys, also known as Cool Doji Danshi in Japan, is based on the web manga series of the same name, written and illustrated by Kokone Nata.
It started with a series of illustrations posted on the author’s Twitter account on May 11, 2018. These illustrations became so popular that they inspired the author to draw a manga that fit the original characters.
The manga has been published on the Pixiv website since February 2019. Four tankoubon volumes have been published by Square Enix under its Pixiv imprint, Gangan Comics.
