On January 13, 2023, the latest chapter of ONE’s superhero manga One Punch Man titled The Supernatural & Risks was released.

The chapter continues with the story’s focus on the witch sisters Fubuki and Tatsumaki and their confrontation with Tsukuyomi’s self-proclaimed leader.

OPM Chapter 117 Summary and Secrets Explained

The chapter begins with the portrayal of an ordinary couple who enjoy the benefits of living at the Heroes’ Association headquarters because of their connections to the government. The couple brags about how lucky they are and how safe they are in the center where the heroes live. But suddenly they feel the effects of a massive earthquake.

Little do they know it’s not a natural phenomenon, but Tatsumaki increases her power as she confronts the Tsukuyomi leader while also levitating Psykos in her chair. Realizing that she is a stronger psychic than the Tsukuyomi leader, Tatsumaki begins self-consciously belittling him. Unfortunately, he then reveals that he has a trick up his sleeve and ruptures a sleep medicine capsule that was inside Fubuki’s body.

When Tatsumaki sees her sister collapse, she is furious. The Tsukuyomi leader warns them not to take any hasty steps or he will break another pod containing poison inside. Tatsumaki realizes that one of the members of the Fubuki group is actually a Tsukuyomi spy. Tatsumaki is forced to be captured along with Psykos and Fubuki.

Tsukuyomi has connections within the Hero Association

However, before the Tsukuyomi leader says goodbye, he decides to open the doors to the level B14 demon monsters’ containment cage, using it to wipe out the entire Fubuki group, leaving enough carnage behind to make it look like the witch sisters also died during the monster attack. The newest male member of the Fubuki group turns out to be a traitor and apparently also an esper.

The Fubuki group panic as they watch the door separating them from the monsters being opened. Suddenly, an explosion of monster body parts and blood explodes through the air and Saitama is in the midst of all this carnage, casual in his nerdy Croc plastic shoes.

Just then, Tatsumaki finally finds the venom-filled pod inside her sister and uses her telekinetic powers to twist the pill and shape it into a needle. She then uses her powers to remove the needle from her sister’s body and hurl the poison at the Tsukuyomi leader. He is poisoned and suffers, but does not die immediately. Tatsumaki quickly incapacitates the Tsukuyomi leader and the spy.

Tatsumaki doesn’t stop there, however, turning her attention to Fubuki and the members of the Fubuki group. Tatsumaki scolds her sister for letting go of her vigilance and making herself a liability. She also warns Fubuki that she really should sever ties with the Fubuki group so that something like this will happen again and her weakness will be used against her. Although Tatsumaki thinks about not being able to protect them all, she doesn’t say it out loud. Tatsumaki’s priority is her sister’s safety and everything is secondary.

Seeing that Fubuki isn’t abandoning her allies of her own accord, Tatsumaki decides she has no choice but to take matters into her own hands. Tatsumaki decides to use her power to hurt the members of the Fubuki group so badly that they can never work as heroes again. Just before she is about to unleash a terrifying surge of telekinetic energy, Saitama grabs her wrist and stops her.

At this point we’ve finally caught up with the events in the webtoon, which involve an epic clash between Saitama and Tatsumaki. It’s interesting to note that in the original webtoon Tatsumaki had gone to kill Psykos, but in this version she was trying to protect Psykos from Tsukuyomi. Anyway, the events in body stories lead to Saitama having to fight Tatsumaki. In the webtoon he did it to protect Psykos while in this new version he protects the entire Fubuki group.
