NCIS’ Vanessa Lachey And Wilmer Valderrama Can Trace Their Friendship Back To The TRL Days

During the “NCIS” franchise crossover, it was revealed that Agent Torres and Agent Tennant may have an unresolved history between them. When asked about it during an interview with The Talk, Vanessa Lachey said it was due to her and Wilmer Valderrama’s years of friendship.

Lachey revealed, “I’ve known Wilmer for over 20 years,” and said the actor, along with his friends, was no stranger to Total Request Live when she hosted the program. After the show, they invited her to go club hopping: “‘We’re going to nine different clubs, do you want to come?’ And I was like, ‘Sure!’”

This led to Lachey and Valderrama becoming close friends. However, the actors decided that the storylines for Torres and Tennant needed some sparks during the crossover episodes. Lachey explained, “He and I secretly came up with this backstory…but I’m not going to tell you.” Hopefully we’ll learn more about Torres and Tennant’s story in future seasons of NCIS and NCIS: Hawaii.
