One of the most notable new anime releases of the year so far has been My Dress-Up Darling, and the show is now celebrating a special event for the series this fall with a new poster that gives each of the characters a stylish new makeover!

Shinichi Fukuda’s original manga series was a minor hit in and of itself. Still, it gained a whole new level of popularity with the release of its anime version earlier this winter of 2022. However, the show’s first season ended with no indication as to whether or not there would be a second season of My Dress-Up Darling.

While there hasn’t been a formal announcement of an upcoming second season of My Dress-Up Darling, there’s certainly hope that one will be made at a special event honoring the anime’s run, which takes place next month. This brand new event, My Dress-Up Darling Eh~?! It’s insanely OMG to see you all! will take place in Japan on September 17th. It was announced that members of the cast and the performers of the theme song would be performing at the event.

To commemorate the fall event, a new poster featuring Wakana Gojo and the central crew in various makeovers has been released. Check out the poster below:

It would make a lot of sense to see the anime return for a new season at some point as the debut of the anime has resulted in a massive success for the manga as it has hit spectacular new sales milestones as a result of the anime run . If you’ve wanted to watch the anime for yourself when a second season of the series is unveiled this fall, you can stream the series in Japanese and English dubbed audio now via Crunchyroll and Funimation.

My Dress-Up Darling: Getting Started with Anime and Manga

My Dress-Up Darling initially gives the impression that it’s just another slice-of-life anime series set in a normal Japanese high school, but that’s only partly true. The show also serves as a paradigm for a fulfilling relationship between two fundamentally different individuals. It can even serve as an educational anime, explaining to viewers how cosplay and modeling work. It offers a lot in both manga and anime form.

Where can you read the manga

Nine volumes of the ongoing manga series My Dress-Up Darling have been released in Japan; the Western edition lags behind. Four volumes are already available in English, and volume five will be released on May 10, 2022. The printed volumes of My Dress-Up Darling are available online from several vendors, including Barnes & Noble, online manga/anime retailer Right Stuf Anime , and Amazon’s books department.

If it is more convenient for them, readers can also try the digital edition of the manga, which is often offered at a discount. My Dress-Up Darling is available through Barnes & Noble’s Nook service and Amazon’s Kindle platform.

Where to Watch My Dress-Up Darling Anime?

There are a few streaming services where you can watch the anime My Dress-Up Darling, which is currently too fresh for a Western Blu-ray/DVD release. All 12 episodes, including the original Japanese dub and the English, Spanish and Portuguese dubs, are generally available for streaming on Crunchyroll. There are numerous language-specific subtitle options for the series.

As part of the merger with Crunchyroll, the anime will no longer be available to stream on Funimation, making Crunchyroll the primary, and possibly only, option for viewers in the West.
