According to the Health Day News since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic the risk of inflammatory issues in children has increased.
Doctors have seen many cases of the same. Doctors then reported cases of serious patients who are mostly children of MIS-C or known as the Multifunction Inflammatory Syndrome dubbing with some inflammation disorders too.
Most Cases Of MIS-C Was Seen To Be Resolved Within 6 Months
A new study shows that the PIMS or the Pediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome fades, as time passes.
Dr. Justin Penner who is a doctor at the Great Ormond Street treatment center of the children claimed that the new findings have shown an optimistic approach towards the treatment of this inflammatory syndrome as it was seen to be faded within 6 months.
The new studies of Penner showed that MIS-C is basically the overreaction of the immune system that only occurs for around six to seven weeks with mild fever periodically and some kind of infections with the SARS-CoV-2, which is the virus that caused the pandemic.
There are many symptoms of the MIS-C like mild fever, diarrhea, eye rash, nausea, and in some cases, the symptoms appear to be more severe and can also assist with organ dysfunctions as well
Dr. Michael Grosso who is a chief medical officer as well as the chairperson at the pediatrics at the Northwell hospital located in New York City said that the deaths of children due to the covid-19 is very less but there are cases of children who died.
If the inflammation is there for a long period in the child’s body it can cause multi-organ dysfunction permanently. For the same reason, children must be protected and should strengthen the immune system.
The research in Britain was a small scale which included only 46 children the ages less than 18 with the average age of patients being 10. These all were admitted from April 4 to September 1 in the year 2020 at the Great Ormond Hospital.
All the children in the study were dealing the inflammation and many had serious issues as well. The different bodies showed different symptoms. Around 45 percent of them showed the symptoms of gastrointestinal, 24 percent dealing with neurological issues, and around 15 percent dealt with heart symptoms.
According to the Lancet Health Journal in the time period of six months, most of the children were tested to be fit and away from all the symptoms of neurological, heart, or gastrointestinal symptoms. The researchers then claimed that the effect erodes after a period of time and they have seen some positive outcomes from the study.
None of the children died due to the inflammation. The doctors now suggest that the children should be kept protected at any cost and the parents should focus to strengthen the immune system of their children. The diet or the lifestyle should be changed if they feel any symptoms of the inflammation and if the condition is serious you should immediately visit a doctor.
