That concludes our knowledge of MLB The Show 22 crossplay. Ahead of the release of MLB The Show 22, see how the game will be available again on Game Pass with our overview of MLB The Show 22 on Game Pass for console.
What is MLB The Show 22?
MLB The Show 22 is a Major League Baseball-themed video game that is developed by San Diego Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (MLB). It will be available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch, marking a first for the series. It will be released on April 5, 2022 as the seventeenth installment in the MLB: The Show franchise. Shohei Ohtani, a two-way player for the Los Angeles Angels, is the cover star.
Xbox Game Pass customers can play the Xbox versions of the game for free at launch for the second straight year.
MLB The Show 22 New Features 2022
This spring, MLB: The Show 22 will be available on all consoles. The latest installment in the franchise introduces a number of new features for players to try out. Although Major League Baseball is now locked out, the latest installment in its popular video game counterpart franchise, MLB The Show 22, is well underway, and Sony Interactive is currently revealing a ton of details on what to expect from the new game. Fans are excited to see what gameplay innovations, performance improvements, and new ways to play the creators will bring to this year’s release, with new information pouring in every day and additional announcements planned ahead of the game’s debut.
What multiplayer options are available in MLB The Show 2022?
Unlike previous editions of MLB the Show, this one includes competitive and cooperative online multiplayer options. This means friends can form pairs or trios to compete against each other online.
One friend plays pitcher while another covers middle infield and a third covers right field in this configuration. In this game, you can also combine your Diamond Dynasty collections to form an immensely powerful team. Unlike previous games, MLB the Show 22 does not allow users to compete in teams against AI players, making online play against others the only option.
There doesn’t appear to be a couch coop option for MLB the Show 22 at this time.
Is MLB The Show 22 coming to PC?
MLB The Show 22, the latest installment in Sony San Diego’s baseball simulation series, is not available on Steam, the widely popular digital bookstore and launcher for PC games. This isn’t a question of restricting the game to another marketplace, as the Epic Games Store has been trying to compete with Steam, but rather a symptom of MLB The Show 22 being completely absent from the platform. The once-exclusive PlayStation series has recently pushed its boundaries, but it’s yet to come to PC.
Given the historical exclusivity of MLB The Show, its absence from Steam and PC in general isn’t entirely surprising. However, sports video games have a long tradition of skipping the platform or treating them as an afterthought. Officially licensed games for the National Hockey League, for example, have not been released on PC since NHL 09 for over a decade. Madden had similar circumstances when it returned to PC in 2018 after a more than decade hiatus.
