The general officer of Mississippi is expecting to file a case in the US Supreme Court to outline the argument related to the case. It is upholding the rights of the last 50 years on abortion in the USA. This case was drawn on Thursday in the state’s argument.
This argument related to Mississippi law is coming from 2018 when it was declared for the whole nation. As per the petitioners, it is the legal right of a woman to choose if she wants the pregnancy or not and there must be no ban on abortion. Recently in some other states also the law was asked to change regarding abortion with the same base and set of arguments and again the history is being repeated on this issue.
Arguments With Mississippi To File In Landmark Abortion Case
It is noteworthy here that the USA has a significant number of cases of unwanted pregnancy every year and the cases are rising with every passing day.
The last three justices who were appointed by the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, have told that the court would think and consider this argument over law in Mississippi to ban abortion after 15 weeks. Now, justices want to rule this case in their way and spring it on.
They have restricted aborting a fetus that might survive outside the mother’s womb. Also, they are considering that the abortion choice should depend on the mother of a child. They are keeping an eye on whether they are forced to abort or doing it of their own will.
Supporters of abortion rights have mentioned that in case of justices uphold this law, it might enact those restrictions to another level. It also includes the abortion ban that if the heartbeat of the fetus will be detected, they cannot abort it. It mostly happens after six weeks.
This law came into existence in 2018 named as Mississippi 15-week law. Later, the law was blocked when the federal court challenged its supporters to stop. After this declaration, only one abortion clinic was opened to abort the fetus after 16 weeks. The name of that specific clinic is “Jackson Women’s Health. The doctor of this clinic mentioned that most abortions happen after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
Around 90% of abortions take place in the United States during 10-13 weeks. But Mississippi clinic is presenting that viability isn’t possible till 15 weeks and said to court “There is no medical evidence proving that fetus will be visible till 15 weeks”. The viability of the Foetus mostly occurs at 24 weeks where babies can survive. If they abort a baby after it starts maturating then it will be against the law and they need to pay for it. So, they should take care of this law enforcement before they perform any illegal activity.
The law allows an exception of 15 weeks in a medical emergency or case of abnormality. On other hand, if they would find any violation of the law, they would face suspension, and or their medical license will be revocated. If they will practice any activity against the law, they might put the health of the mother at risk. The Mississippi law has mentioned not to practice abortion after 15 weeks. The government does not want any issues from the supporters so people have to follow it.
Many supporters of the Republican Party are pushing that the law will challenge the 1973 supreme court, Roe V. Wade to rule legalized abortion in the whole nation. Mississippi law is awaiting to follow values of fairness, integrity, accountability, and commitment towards the women of the United States.
