Marvel’s Nate Moore, the producer behind Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Eternals, named two X-Men he would like to see in the MCU in the near future in a podcast interview with Deadline. He said, “If you’re talking about Storm and Bishop, they’re two of the great characters in this franchise that I’m sure I could give you ideas for all day.” Moore went on to say in the same interview that the X-Men are in one very early stage of integration into the MCU.
The first project to feature former Fox mutants will be the upcoming untitled Deadpool 3. Not only will Ryan Reynolds return in his debut appearance in the MCU as Mauled Mercenary, but Hugh Jackman will once again play Wolverine. While “Logan” was the character’s departure from the X-Men franchise, it was set in the future, leaving more room for Jackman to play the character. He also appeared as a character in the ill-fated X-Men: Apocalypse, making Logan his last appearance anyway.
Talk of Storm and Bishop being brought into the MCU is sure to get fans excited. Halle Berry played Storm four times in the X-Men franchise and was considered a fan favorite character. It’s unknown if Berry would return to the role that made her famous, but she has expressed interest if she does. However, Bishop has only appeared in one live-action film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, in which he was portrayed by Omar Sy, so he would most likely be recast. Bishop was a fan-favorite character in the popular ’90s X-Men: The Animated Series. Let the fan casting speculation begin.
