Louisiana, the biggest non-profit health care system of Ochsner Health, said that they will charge fees for spouses and domestic partners who do not get boosters against Covid-19 under the health care benefit program for 2022 enrolled employees.

The fees charged are very similar to what has been imposed on the tobacco users and in line with the benefits offered by the health care organization and companies. This statement was said by Ochsner’s President and CEO, Warner Thomas.
It is not mandated as non-employed spouses and domestic partners can choose their health plans outside of the Ochsner Health offerings, The CEO Stated. With the breadwinner’s vaccination agreement, the wives and the family partner that has medical and spiritual objections can file their protection requests.
In August, Ochsner health announced covid 19 vaccination mandates for physicians, providers, and employees and said they were required to be vaccinated by October 29.
The healthcare system providers try to keep the health premium low for their employees. Ochsner CEO said, ” the cost of Covid-19 treatment especially for those patients who require the intensive care is very expensive and we had spent $9 million on the covid care for those patients who are covered with the health plans last year.”
Mainly, three covid-19 vaccines are available in the US. As the highly infectious Delta variant has been sending for Covid-19 cases surging one again in the summers. The hospitals and locals said that the majority of the hospitalized patients are unvaccinated people.

The state health officer, Dr. Joseph Kanter said in a statement that “COVID data shows that Louisiana is thanked for coming down from the fourth and most dangerous surge. It’s nice news and unfortunately, the bad news is that we still have a lot of COVID in 64 parishes. Joseph also stated ” we should do everything to stay stable and quit the following rise which comprises Covid-19 vaccine.
