Los Angeles Season 14 Episode 4

Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

During a recent interview with TVLine (in which NCIS: Los Angeles star Daniela Ruah discussed her work directing the series), Ruah explained that her mysterious absence from Dead Stick was simply a logistical decision by the showrunners. “What the audience probably doesn’t know is that each of us [on the cast] is now four episodes per season,” revealed Ruah. “It’s just a structural, logistical thing that our show is doing now. So, sometimes in the beginning it’s like, ‘Oh, they had to take Rosa somewhere’ as a justification, but that’s basically why there are going to be episodes where some characters just aren’t there.”

Ruah’s comments certainly make it seem like her abrupt departure from Season 14, Episode 4 is actually a natural part of the show — and has more to do with scheduling than anything else. While some fans might be reassured that Ruah’s absence wasn’t a cause for concern (especially given the high cast turnover on “NCIS” and its various spinoff series), others might be shocked to learn that each cast member actually is expected missing four episodes per season.

In any case, there seems to be a perfectly reasonable explanation for the absence of Daniela Ruah in certain episodes, as well as the absence of other cast members in season 14 of NCIS: Los Angeles.
