LA Chargers anime NFL schedule trailer parodies Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, Naruto, One Piece, and more
Anime is going mainstream more than ever, and the release of the LA Chargers anime NFL schedule just proved it!
The NFL team decided to present their 2022 season schedule in style, taking inspiration from several of the most popular anime series available today.
That 2 minute twitter video is set to a soundtrack straight from your favorite shonen op. and each clip highlights a different weekly opponent with an anime reference.

Which animes are mentioned in the trailer?
Several different anime series make their way into the video, and fans will likely pick up more than a few fun anime easter eggs from series like Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan. Some of the other important references are noted below.
One Piece is mentioned several times to refer to the Las Vegas Raiders.
The LA Chargers play the Kansas City Chiefs twice and are obviously ready for “Mecha Mahomes,” which appears to be a homage to the mecha genre at large.
Russel Wilson, who recently signed with the Denver Broncos, wears an apron and headband that says “Let Russ Cook.” Food Wars fans may recognize the resemblance between his headband and Sōma Yukihira’s.

Naruto also makes an appearance in week ten when the Chargers take on the San Francisco 49ers.
Even My Hero Academia’s Tokoyami gets some affection in week nine when the team takes on the Atlanta Falcons.
