John Krasinski didn’t name names when we asked him if there were any specific Fantastic Four characters he’d like to see adapted in the MCU if we were able to have the ultimate power and his return as Reed Richards to back up. He immediately laughed that “You would be the Almighty” before asking, “I wouldn’t have any say, would I? …You’d basically be Kevin Feige, and I’d have to do whatever you say.” After a bit of fun, Krasinski noted that the cameo was “a real thrill,” explaining that he “got the call from Kevin two weeks earlier receive [wrapping] “jack ryan” [Season] 3.”

Not surprisingly, Krasinski loved the opportunity. “Being a part of this world for a day was a real thrill,” he reiterated, but he implied that such a sudden, brutal dismantling of his character came as a bit of a shock. “I don’t know if that was the ending I was expecting,” he said, expressing the same surprise shared by many Marvel fans when such a classic Marvel character met a less than glorious ending, “but hey , it was fun nonetheless.”

There is a sad implication here that we may not see Krasinski return if the MCU revisits the four in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, which is given the Peter Parker troupe in Spider-Man: No Way Home. is quite possible. At the same time, given the popularity of its casting, you never really know what’s going to happen once this highly anticipated film rolls around.

Jack Ryan is available to watch on Prime Video.
