It’s Time To Talk About That Max Shocker In Stranger Things 4, Vol. 2

Read Time:1 Minute, 9 Second

Before Eleven and Co. Entering Max’s hospital room, Lucas is reading Stephen King and Peter Straub’s 1984 book The Talisman, a dark fantasy novel about a boy who uses the title subject to save his mother from cancer. Granted, every book could have been taken off the shelf, but this one is set in a world of different dimensions, inhabited by parallel individuals or “twins” to those living in ours. These twins can possess their other selves (think Wanda in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) and jump between worlds, but should one of them die, their doppelganger becomes “stand alone”. This allows them to jump between realities without needing a duplicate to inhabit.

With that page turner in mind, could this be a hint as to what’s in store for next season? Could Vecna still be alive after seemingly being shot and burned, and if so where is he? Could he still have what’s left of Max as Brennan suggested? Could Max himself be lost in another reality beyond Upside Down? If so, a rematch for all of Max’s marbles and the fate of the world could be on the cards for the final season of Stranger Things. Our only hope is that it can top the Metal moment in history, which was Eddie’s rooftop guitar solo. Better practice, Eleven.
