If you haven’t been following the Hunter x Hunter manga, you should know that the series has come back into the limelight.

This return of Hunter x Hunter is credited to creator Yoshihiro Togashi. The creator caused a lot of buzz last month after opening his Twitter account and give updates on his manga after a long sabbatical.

In fact, the artist has been keeping fans on edge with Hunter x Hunter updates practically daily, and we now know just how much work Togashi still has to do.

The latest update from the Hunter x Hunter creator

As you can see below, the Hunter x Hunter update is once again from Twitter. Togashi shared a beautiful shikishi sketch with HxH Gon and others.

According to mangaka Masanori Morita, the creator of Hunter x Hunter completed the piece a while ago, but a recent search brought the drawing to Togashi. After sharing the image, the artist took a minute to talk about his plans for Hunter x Hunter’s return.

Togashi’s published art and more information

Togashi says he has three more chapters to write for now. This information came after the creator teased the 19th chapter of the comeback.

If Togashi has three new chapters to write, Hunter x Hunter will likely continue serialization with 21 chapters. Of course, Togashi could have consciously avoided using certain words.

The return of Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter creator and illustrator Yoshihiro Togashi has returned from vacation to join Twitter for a long-awaited announcement. Fans of the popular Shonen series have been waiting for a hint of a sequel almost four years since the release of the latest chapter – and eight years since the latest anime adaptation.

The popular series spawned two anime adaptations, many films, and numerous computer games that followed young Gon Freecss to become a recognized and certified hunter and find his long-lost father with the same profession. Throughout his strange and spooky adventures, he is joined by devoted friends Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua on their quests to gain the hunter’s perks and freedom.

The story of Hunter x Hunter seems far from over. The story is currently in the ongoing Succession Contest arc and the possibility of Gon returning with a new goal of regaining his ancient abilities. It’s also possible that Hunter x Hunter’s Kurapika will be the focus of the new Dark Continent story arc.

However, manga industry expectations usually weigh on creators before they can finish their stories. Mangakas, like Togashi, often illustrate and create storyboards themselves. Many people are known to have died due to the stress of this constant workload.

If the artist just needs to finish the drafts for his editorial team, Hunter x Hunter also has 19 chapters to premiere upon its return. Also, such a degree would allow Hunter x Hunter to visit Shonen Jump relatively soon…! After all, the three chapters on Togashi’s list may already be written.
